hi..my DS has blue duck egg walls in his room and we had the same trouble choosing a carpet for him..in the end we opted for a biscuit colour carpet...obviously it didnt matter as much in a bedroom to have a light carpet.

anyway when the fitter came to fit it, they brought a completely diff colour to what to picked...it was a darkish brown, but lighter than a chocolate colour...i hated it, but i didnt want to go through the hassle of returning it and waiting for the correct one, so we had it fitted anyway. now we are used to it and it doesnt look too bad.

a family member also had the same colour bedroom and had a dark blue carpet fitted, which was nice..but not sure if you would have this in your living room?? depends on your other colour schemes what your having aswell. hope this helps :)

We have three young children and have a beige carpet, and duck egg wall too!!!

with a good carpet cleaner (like we have!) perhaps beige is a nice idea??

like the chocolate idea though.

I saw a 60 Minute Makeover where they had duck egg on the walls they had a biscuit carpet with chocolate sofas but I think a chocolate brown carpet would look just as nice.

That's what I want in our living room too as we already have a beige/cream sofa.

I want to decorate now! :)

I would say brown too.. Unless you have a brown sofa, you don't want it to look like your sofa is growing out of the floor. If the sofa is brown I would say dark beige or a sort of biscuity off-cream (which hides dirt surprisingly well).
What colour is your furniture?

My 14 month old sons room is duck egg blue and has a biscuit coloured carpet, it looks really nice and will go with other colours when he wants a change:)

my sons is a duck egg blue and we have a dark chocolate coloured carpet for his room, it looks great.

I would say anything from golden biscuits through to dark browns are fine with the blue. Even beige shades would be nice

We are decorating our hallway a duck egg blue colour, we were debating on a chocolate colour carpet  but we dont get much natural light in our hall so we are going to opt for a dark cream / dark biscuit colour instead
